The center of the mandala has the alchemical symbol of the philosopher’s stone of a circle in a square in a triangle in a circle. The philosopher’s stone is a symbol of transmutation as it is said to transform base metals, like lead, into gold. As I began to draw this symbol, I started visualizing placing all of my lower frequency energy, thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior into the center circle so it could be transmuted into the higher frequencies of love, compassion and wisdom. In other words, I am taking my base emotions and feelings and transforming them into gold. As the lower energies are transmuted, they become the seeds that give life to new flowers. This is represented by the small brown circles surrounding the center circle.
The next layers of the mandala consist of green leaves along with pink and light rose-colored flowers. The green leaves represent growth and healing. The pink flowers are for compassion and the rose colored flowers are for love. Every day I continue to grow and heal. I am grateful for the healing energies of nature that support my growth and my ability to regenerate. All of my experiences have led me to deeper levels of compassion and love for myself as well as others in my life and in the world. Each day, I focus on how I can show more compassion and more love to myself and others. Oftentimes the greatest challenge is showing compassion and love to myself, but with this intention and regular practice it has become easier. I have noticed the more love and compassion I show myself, the easier it is to do the same for others. I have more patience and am not as reactive as my sensitive nature has typically been.
The next layer has a series of the Usui Reiki symbols Cho Ku Rei and Sei He Ki. The first symbol, Cho Ku Rei, is a symbol for physical healing as well as cleansing, activation and protection. Using the Cho Ku Rei symbol creates an armor of light that will cleanse and stimulate the activation of chakras in the body, boost energy and overall mood while removing fatigue, create strong protection for the energetic and physical body, as well as remove energetic blockages, residual energies and other negative influences. Sei He Ki is for emotional and mental healing as it opens dimensions, creates harmony and provides healing and balancing of the energetic body. The symbol, Sei He Ki, also assists with breaking undesirable habits as our lives are directly influenced by our mental energy fields. Combining both symbols is powerful for healing and transmutation. The first one, Cho Ku Rei, helps us open and release all residual lower energy while allowing the positive, universal energy to enter. The second one supports the mental and emotional levels by bringing imbalances to the surface to be healed in a harmonious way. I work with both symbols daily in my practice as a Reiki Master, and I have found the combination of the two most appropriate for the healing intentions of my mandala.
The morning that I began this piece, I drew the Gold and Silver Violet Flame Dragon from my Diana Cooper’s Dragon Oracle Cards. The gold and silver violet flame dragon “transmutes the old around you with wisdom and grace.” Gold holds the energy of the Divine Masculine and qualities of wisdom, knowledge and strength. Silver has the energy of the Divine Feminine and qualities of love, compassion and grace. The outer borders of the different mandala layers have gold and silver to draw these energies into the mandala. The outer design is representative of the violet flame of transmutation. If you look closely at the oracle card you can also see where I was inspired to incorporate the philosopher’s stone symbol in the center of my mandala.
That same morning I drew the Archangel Mariel oracle card from Diana Cooper’s Archangel Oracle Cards. Archangel Mariel works closely with the Magenta Flame of Divine Feminine Love and supports us in manifesting with the highest good and working with pure love. The outer circles of my mandala are filled with a deep magenta to draw this energy into the piece as well.
I finished this piece on the day of the Full Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse on May 16, 2022. The energy of this time assists us with bringing our awareness to what’s lingering in the shadows and offering us opportunities for deeper self-knowledge. My mandala helps support me as I let go of old emotional patterns, old security attachments, and old ways of being, as I allow the process of further transformation to happen. The goal is for me to live my highest timeline and serve my purpose here on Earth at this time. My hopes in sharing this piece are that the energy and intention support you on your journey as well.
