I was first introduced to Tapping and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) through my dad. Over the past 20 years, my dad has sent me different articles, audio files, videos, and full programs to encourage me to incorporate tapping into my daily life. For a brief period of time, I was seeing a counselor who specialized in tapping as well. Despite all the exposure and opportunities to become involved with tapping, I never did much with it.
Over the last year, my focus has been to be more open to suggestions. This all led me to take the Tapping for Abundance Workshop at Desert Sage Herbs. My mom and I have been taking classes there over the years and this one caught her eye as something I should participate in. I was a little skeptical, but I knew both presenters and have enjoyed their courses in the past. Brittney Sounart, a registered herbalist and EFT practitioner, partnered with Candice Cook, who is an herbalist and shamanic healer. The class incorporated a beautiful blend of ceremony, ritual, and tapping. Throughout the workshop, Candice burned different incenses and smudged to focus the intent, clear space and prepare us for receiving spiritual information. Brittney guided us through tapping to clear away obstacles. Candice then led us through a Shamanic Drumming Journey to connect us with any ancestral or spiritual blockages to abundance.
While I have been exposed to tapping before, I really enjoyed Brittney’s presentation of it. She is a lot of fun and her bubbly personality makes tapping as a group enjoyable. She did an excellent job of explaining the concepts of tapping and the importance of not ignoring or stuffing the negative thoughts, but rather of tapping it out of our bodies. I liked the concept of getting out the negative so much that I began having my 10 year old tapping with me now. I also loved the incorporation of smudging, tea, and the drumming facilitated by Candice. She is a powerful shamanic healer with a wealth of information. I have learned a lot from her over the past six months.
We had a two-week follow up yesterday to see the progress that we have made since the workshop. I was blown away with my personal results. Within the first week of the workshop, I was asked to teach a cooking class and sold four tickets on top of receiving an additional private student who had her first lesson last Tuesday. I have offered cooking classes in the past, but was not necessarily intending to offer them now or in the future. I was tickled pink to be approached and asked to do one. Brittney talked about how often times we think something needs to be hard or difficult, when in fact it can just flow. I have struggled in the past, so it was amazing to see how easily everything fell in place. Additional abundance came in before we met, which gave me a lot to share and talk about. I laugh at this part, because I was not open to sharing during the initial class and grateful that my space to be a silent participant was honored.
During the workshop, Brittney mentioned the power of tapping in a group. I have to agree that is is definitely powerful. The shifts and changes that took place the last two weeks have me excited to see what will happen next. I highly recommend keeping an eye out for a future Tapping for Abundance workshop through Desert Sage. And in the meantime, check out some free tapping resources. My dad really was onto something all of these years and I am grateful for the seeds he planted. I am especially grateful that I have become more open to suggestions, which led me to embracing tapping and seeing first hand the benefits.
